Welcome

I often create many  articles which are perhaps not suitable for journals such as Cheshire History but which may be of interest to some, especially local people. The Internet is an ideal medium for presenting such facts.

Articles which appear will be updated and added to from time to time and, unlike some other history sites, will be properly referenced with sources.
More

As a keen local historian  have been studying the history of Cheshire especially the Northwich and Middlewich areas for fifty years. Over the years I have written a number of books and articles on various aspects of Cheshire History.

As well as being a member of a number of academic societies in the region,

I had two three year term as chair of the Cheshire Local History Association and am still an active member of its executive committee. Currently I am also Chairman of the Northwich Heritage Society.

Why create this site?

I regularly give talks to various organisations throughout Cheshire. My topics cover local and family history, Domesday and Medieval Cheshire, Salt making, Cheshire churches & Heraldry.

All talks are illustrated using computerised projection.
